What is the material used in wallpaper? Is it cost effective?

Ever wondered what wallpaper material is like? It has come a long way from the last 10 years!

What used to be of poor quality, is hard to remove and apply is no more. Enter the era of non-woven wallpaper.

Non-woven wallpaper is a combination of natural and synthetic fibers. A heat treatment bonds the wood fibres in the base material tightly together, making the product extremely durable and tear-resistant.

Here at Hello Circus, we mostly print our wallpapers on a non-woven material with a matt finish. Unlike its embossed counterpart, an additional protective varnish free of heavy metals is added. This extra layer makes it washable and scrub-resistant! By washable, we mean it is water resistant, not waterproof. So if your kids were to ever colour over or stain your wallpaper, you can use a damp cloth to clean it!

The non-woven material is breathable, so no more mould and mildew issues that were encountered in the past.

The material is flexible enough to be easily applied and removed, without damaging your existing walls.

As we stated in the previous blogpost, the non-woven material does not use PVC during its manufacture process, making it eco-friendly and good for the earth, yourself and the kids.

Not to mention that wallpapers can last for 7 years and moreCompared to paint, we think wallpapers make for a very cost-effective product!

Try it to know it!
